Overview
At Goedemiddag, I worked on redesigning and rebuilding the company’s website to replace an outdated one-pager that lacked clarity, usability, and meaningful content. The project focused on improving structure, navigation, and overall communication while staying true to the company’s branding and technical direction.
When I joined Goedemiddag, the company had a basic one-pager with a few scroll animations and minimal text that didn’t really explain much. The website was particularly frustrating because you had to scroll past all the animations just to reach the contact information.
The projects were displayed within the scroll animations, but the text was minimal and focused on the client rather than the project itself. The goal was to create a new website that houses all the necessary information without being frustrating to navigate, all while staying within the company’s branding.
Goedemiddag also wanted to use a CMS compatible with the company’s tech-stack. After some consideration we decided to build the website in Craft CMS 5, which isn’t yet part of the company’s tech stack but will be upgradeable to the Laravel-based Craft CMS 6 when it’s released in Q3 of 2026. Since Goedemiddag uses Laravel for nearly all projects and is part of the Dutch Laravel Foundation, this approach will be a perfect fit for the company.
During development I worked closely with a colleague who designed the new website, and I held multiple feedback sessions with colleagues to ensure the site remained fully aligned with Goedemiddag’s branding and coding standards.
Outcome
The new website, while still being a one-pager, is a significant improvement over the previous one-pager. It is fully branded, includes descriptive text for all projects and services, and is easy to navigate. Additional pages will be added over time and eventually the project will be updated to Craft CMS 6. Overall, the site fits the company perfectly and provides a much clearer, more user-friendly experience.
